Kids & Teen Club
Many junior / teenage skiers are now at such a level that traditional group lessons are not of a sufficient standard to challange and push them. The Club will be run during the school holiday weeks with focus on personal performance, future development and achievable goals and build long term friendships between kids who come back year after year to Val d'isere.
OBJECTIVES
To provide a programme and environment where strong junior skiers are pushed in all aspects of skiing and snowsports whilst enjoying a positive social interaction with others who may well return, time and time again, to Val d'Isere.
PROGRAMME 2010-2011
Christmas Week - Monday the 20th to Friday the 24th of December
New Years Week - Monday the 27th to Friday the 31st of December
Half Term - Monday the 21st to Friday the 25th of February
Easter - Monday the 4rd to Friday the 8th of April
Easter - Monday the 11th to Friday the 15th
There are some schools on holiday during the weeks commencing the 13th of February and the 27th of March. If there was demand to run the programme during those weeks then please contact us on ken@progressionski.com and we will gladly set up the course.
The Club will run Monday to Friday with three full days from 9.00am to 4.00pm and two half days from 9am to 1pm. The full days will normally be Tuesday, Thursday and Friday but if there was a specific event on another day then we may change that to suit.
PERFORMANCE
Participants will be challenged in all terrrain and strands. Piste performance, off piste, moguls, variable terraine and park. We may also include snowboarding and telemark either as part of the programme or as a bolt on.
AGES
We would like to run two groups per week based partially on age and partially on ability. The general age group will be 8 to 16 but we will be flexible about that.
ABILITY / LEVEL
Participants should be able to ski all the black runs in resort in all but the most challenging of conditions.
COACHES
Progression instructors are all fully qualified to work in France- the hardest and most challenging country to achieve that status. This makes them amongst the highest qualified and experienced instructors in the world. Within the ski school we have instructors such as Amanda Pirie (ex GB team &No 56 World ranking), Aaron Cassells (No 5 GB Dry Slope), Philip Searens (World Cup Coach), Line Crammon (Danish Freeride and Moguls Champion and sponsored Freeride Skier) and Amigo Hermeler (Aspirant Guide & Austrian Instructor Trainer who lectures the Austrian Ski Federation in Off Piste). It will be these instructors who will tend to work on the programme. We will also bring in specific instructors for specific strands such as mogul skiing and park days.
